Liz is Billboard’s senior finance correspondent, covering all things money in the music business. She is drawn to stories that help readers understand the economics at play for artists today — such as how much money Charli XCX earned from brat summer — and that highlight the financial industry’s influence on artists and music, such as the global private equity giant Blackstone’s growing portfolio of music companies and catalogs. Before Billboard, Liz spent a decade covering Wall Street, the U.S. banking system and investing for the international newswire Reuters. She studied journalism with a focus on international relations at Indiana University and Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. She has worked as a journalist in China, Kenya, and Canada, in addition to the United States. Liz grew up in Gary, Ind., the hometown of the Jacksons, and currently lives in Manhattan.
